Used, New, And Vintage Honda Motorcycles

Honda Motor Company got its start making motorcycles–the first was produced in 1949 and was known as the D-Type Dream. Since then, Honda motorcycles have taken over a large part of the worldwide market for motorcycles.  Honda has become a powerhouse in the motorcycle, boating and automotive fields, to name a few.

Honda motorcycles are one-of-a-kind. Though they have had to compete with American and European brands throughout the years, something about Hondas keep them popular and selling well. Most point to the relatively low amount of maintenance needed to keep running. If a Honda does break down, unlike European brands, they are affordable to fix. The affordable nature of the Honda is what initially spiked Honda motorcycle sales; nowadays it keeps them selling well.

Since Honda has been making motorcycles since the 1940's, it has quite a bit of history in its two-wheelers. The easy fix-ability of Hondas makes it vintage and used Honda motorcycles are easy to find. As a hobby, some people find it fun to "flip" Honda motorcycles or fix them up to the point that they run like brand new. Due to the popularity of fixing up Hondas, Honda motorcycle parts are available all over on the internet, at authorized dealers and retail stores. Many sites specialize in selling old school Hondas (that require some fixing) to motorcycle fans that buy them and fix them up for fun.

Vintage Honda motorcycles range anywhere from 1949 to the early 1990's. These styles include the Dream, the Valkyrie, the Shadow, the Rebel 250, the Gold Wing, the Nighthawk, and the Blackbird, to name an extensive but not complete list. Honda motorcycle parts are easily found on the internet if you want to do-it-yourself.  The owner who merely wants to ride an old school bike should probably take the bike into a dealer and get it fixed by a professional (though labor costs are more expensive).

Honda motorcycles are an affordable way to have fun on two-wheels.  New bikes reaasure you of low maintenance costs while old vintage bikes give you the opporunity to create an individual and unique bike of your own. Whether vintage or new, you will be buying a motorcycle rich in heritage, history and capable of long term thrills.
